 Tijdens de tweede dag van het testen op Barcelona is het Sebastian Vettel die de snelste tijd op de klokken heeft laten noteren. De Duitser bleef Takuma Sato voor, die net als gisteren een snelle tijd wist te noteren. Pedro de la Rosa reed vandaag voor het eerst in een bolide van Force India, maar stunten kon hij niet. Hij sloot de lijst. De dag kwam voor Vettel wat moeizaam op gang. Al vrij vroeg in de ochtend kreeg hij te maken met een brandje aan zijn Red Bull-bolide. Het weerhield de eenmalige grand prix-winnaar er echter niet van om een snelle tijd te laten klokken. Achter Vettel en Sato waren het Bourdais en Buemi die het 'Red Bull-feestje' completeerde. Op plek vijf viel pas een niet-Red Bull-auto te noteren; Gary Paffett werd vijfde in zijn McLaren. De Brit had de dag opgesplits en reed met twee verschillende pakketten. Het team van BMW was vandaag druk in de weer met de geupdate F1.08 met de aerodynamica voor volgend jaar. Het bracht Kubica naar de zesde plek, Nick Heidfeld werd er vandaag veertiende mee. Adrian Sutil wist vandaag zijn nieuwe teamgenoot voor te blijven. Sutil werd vijftiende, terwijl De la Rosa de langzaamste van vandaag was. De Spanjaard klaagde na afloop vooral over het gemis aan grip. Giedo van der Garde reed vandaag wederom voor het team van Renault. Nu kende de Nederlander geen crash en wist 37 ronden op het circuit van Barcelona te rijden. Morgen zal de derde en laatste testdag zijn op het circuit van Barcelona.
