Ross kocht Honda F1 voor een prikkie
Ross Brawn kon het F1 team van Honda overkopen voor maar £1, dat zegt een functionaris van de Japanse constructeur.

Honda besloot in december om zich terug te trekken uit de Formule 1. De economische crisis zorgde er voor dat het team niet verder kon. Toch wilde Honda het F1 team niet aan haar lot overlaten en zocht het naar mogelijke kopers.

Uiteindelijk werd het Ross Brawn die het team overkocht voor een symbolische pond. "Onze prioriteit in december was om de toekomst van het team in de F1 te verzekeren. De prijs was nooit een probleem", aldus de anonieme medewerker.

De aankoopprijs mocht dan wel laag zijn voor Brawn maar de werkingskosten zijn dat hoegenaamd niet. Enkele dagen geleden kondigde het team nog honderden ontslagen aan.
